Auntumn Days
No more Halloween cards........let's move on to fall. This card is from a sketch on RAQ's card challenge over at the Cricut messageboard. I used Doodlecharms for the basket, cut shadow/regular at 3".....layers in tan.....inked. I enlarged the slits with an Exacto knife and added woven ribbon through it. Little apples are Doodlecharms....cut at 1".....added ink and green acrylic paint for the leaves. Attached with glue and layered with pop dots. Added little buttons on the basket. The pretty "shape" was one I had no cut for.....found one in my stash and drew a template. Cutting by hand......yuck.....boy, do I love my Cricut. Added some more ribbon, a bow, inked everything, and put on a rub-on sentiment. Paper is DCWV Indian Summer. Ribbon is from Target's $1 bin.

Argyle cards
RAQ's challenge on the Cricut messageboard had this great sketch from Scrapfriends using an argyle pattern. I made a Halloween (I know.....I said no more....but.....) and a Christmas version. Easy to do when you use paper that is in squares. Added some punchs, little PDDU bats, and ribbon to both. Sentiments are stickers (Christmas) and rub-ons (Halloween)

Trick or Treat!
My last Halloween card (I think?) I used PDDU for most of it. The little witch is cut at 3"....then I cut and pasted to get the side view. Used Witch's hair, Witch's shoes, Witch's hat (star punch), Wizard's dress (backed in green to show the stars), and the Wizard's cape (cut at 2 1/2" instead of 3) Face is hand drawn....chalked and inked a lot (green fingernails.......) The broom is cut at 5 1/2" Used my MS circle maker to cut a 3 3/4" circle....inked it....embossed with swirls in the cuttlebug. Added some PPDU bats and rub-on sentiment. Trimmed it out with orange ribbon and a button. Here's a close up:

From Your Mummy
I saw this cute little clip art mummy while browsing at the computer.....thought he would be easy to reproduce with the cricut. 3" George circle for the face....1" circles for the cheeks. Nose is one of the snowballs from Doodlecharms, cut at 1". I cut thin strips of white paper with some deco edge scissors, inked the edges, and cut strips to put on the mummy. Then I took a cotton swab with ink and went over the edges again after they were glued for a little more impact. Eyes are a sharpie; sentiment and spiders are little clear stickers from the Dollar Tree. And of course, the inside says, "From Your Mummy!"

Witchy Cat
Tried a little bit of paper piecing today. I'm gonna have to break down and get the Gypsy....it's perfect for the way I craft. Anyway, followed a sketch posted on RAQ's challenge on Cricut....orginally from pagemaps. Used Heidi Grace papers...and the yellow is from the scrap drawer.
Cat is made with Pooh and Friends hat (shadow, regular, layers(polka dots)...cut at 3"....inked and ribboned. Head is George Heart (shift) cut at 4" and placed upside down. Eyes are 1" heart and 1" oval (cut in two) Cheeks are 1" ovals...inked and chalked and doodled. Nose is a little heart punch. Added some George Stars #2 and crescent moons. Handcut the brackets.

Let It Snow! Practical Scrappers Punch Challenge
Well, I broke down and finally made a Christmas card. I wouldn't have....but it matched the sketch challenge on RAQ's card challenge on the Cricut Messageboard....and it used punches which is what Practical Scrappers is using this week....so here it is: the first Christmas card of 2009.
Used Doodlecharms snowman: cut shadow on regular and layers in blue metallic....cut brown twigs, cut regular white....and layers white. All cut at 2 1/2" Went around the edges with blue and green pencil...then silver metallic ink. Attached the layered nose (ink, gel pen, and watercolors) googly eyes, inked cheeks, and penciled mouth. Put on an orange ribbon knotted for a scarf...and a punched heart...and buttons. The hat is the elf's hat from PDDU....cut at 3" and layered. The paper is American crafts and it made this sketch easy! Snowflakes are 2 Martha Stewart punches....layered....and button attached. Sentiment is computer generated....cut with decorative scissors.....and inked with the silver.

Halloween Monster - Bitten by the Bug Challenge
The Challenge at Bitten by the Bug is to use the monster on PDDU. I've always loved this cut, so I was very excited to start this one.
Monster is cut at 3" once in orange and once in polka dots....layered together with pop dots. Used white/purple circles for the eyes, purple circle for the nose, and (Are you ready for this????!!).....the magician's hair cut at 4" for his little hands. I loved this cut because it gave him claws. The bag is from PDDU, cut at 3"....doodled with a white gel pen. I used black sharpie, white and purple gel pens, and some brown ink to finish my little hairy guy.
The candy corn is Doodlecharms, cut at 2 1/2" and 3". Paper on the card is Daisy D's....sentiment is handstamped (stamp from Target's $1 bin) and colored, attached with pop dots. Added some tourquoise ribbon to the top and bottom. The sketch for this card is from Pagemaps.

Spooky Fun!
Over on the Cricut message board, there is a weekly thread called RAQ's card challenge. There are three sketches....just for fun and feedback. Lots of nice people over there, and I try to do at least one sketch. Here is my card for sketch #1:
Used the ghost from PDDU, cut at 2 1/2", 2", and 1 1/2". Used Sharpie and silver ink from details; glued some flat and some with pop dots. Used nesties for the sentiment frame. Paper is Daisy D's and the spider webs are black translucent stickers from the Dollar Tree. Sentiment is vellum. Doodled with my white pen (I think that is my favorite scrap tool right now....)

Witchy Poo
Made this little gal to go on a Halloween layout (will be on Scrap 4 the Memories later this morning when I get it finished. I am happy with the way this little "witchy poo" turned out. Used 4" cut on blackout. Used one ear for the nose. Used witch's hair (trimmed to fit the side view), witch shoes, and bride of frankenstein dress. You just have to cut off one arm and leg and rearrange to get the side view. Added some great purple fibers to the hat (which is Pooh and Friends, cut shadow, regular, and plaid layers at 2"). Used lots of glittery gel pens, white markers, and purple ink to finish her. Cut the little pot twice, once in purple to get the potion layer. Silver metallic ink, purple raindrops, and little shinestones finished it. Spell book used purple ink and silver metallic pen. Spider buttons are Favorite Findings.

Abra-CAT-dabra!
I wanted to make a little witchy cat and really loved the little kitty's head on Doodlecharms. I cut it out on 2".....got the face like I wanted with chalk, ink, and embellishment cuts...and attached the head to a 4" grey Paper doll cut on blackout. I rounded off the hands, and inked in some paw markings. I used the Frankenstein's bride dress with the prairie girl's apron (I think....we were at the beach when I did this and it's been a week ago!) The hat is the witch's hat....the stars are a punch. Paper is last year's DCWV's fall stack....sentiment is a little glitter sticker from a pack at the dollar store. Added the sentiment to a rectangle, punched stars in the corner and attached with pop dots. Attached two little Favorite Findings flat back spiders to the background.
Halloween Inchies
One of the sketches this week on Okie's Challenge on the Cricut messageboard had this cute little sketch that used inchies. I've never tried inchies and couldn't resist. Paper, pumpkin, sentiment, and ribbon are from Target. Ghost and spider are from PDDU. Cute, easy card to put together.

Fall Wreath
Used the little leaves and acorns on Doodlecharms to make a wreath. Cut leaves at shadow and regular....embellished with ink and metallic pens. The acorn are cut in brown and tan, cut and pieced. The sentiment is a rub-on....ala Target $1 bin. Paper is DCWV Indian summer....just cut out the strip to embellish.
Thinking of You!
Just a quick little birthday card. I used the sentiment from Walking in My Garden - doodled and pop dotted. Attached an orange ribbon and three pink and orange flowers from Walk in my Garden. Paper is Memory Makers.
