Looks Like Love - Polka Doodles # 4 and Cricut Cardz Challenge #10

Love this little frog paper piecing (he's hand cut from a My Scrap Chick pattern)....and thought it fit the "non-traditional" Valentine exactly.  Finished it up in lavendar, green, black, and white for Cricut Cardz.  Used Doodlecharms for the little "rain" hearts, embossed them with Swiss dots.  Tiny hearts are a punch.  Sentiment is computer generated and embossed too.

Trio of Cards

I loved this floral paper and decided to see what I could make with it.  On the Cricut board, there is a weekly challenge called RAQ's card challenge with 3-4 sketches per week.   I decided to use this paper to make all the cards.  Used George for flowers, Pooh and Friends for the flower pot and the bee, and Paisley for the elephant.  Kind of a fun project, and not so many scraps!!

Froggy Be Mine

My wonderful hubby took me to Michael's and Hobby Lobby this week-end....left me alone....and didn't care what I bought!   I had fun!  Found a great Valentine's paper stack and couldn't wait to use the frog.   None of the Cricut frogs were quite right, so I made up one with George ovals and circles.

The recipe is:  3 2'  green ovals,
cut one in half for  the feet
1 1" white circle (for the belly)
2 3/4 inch green circles (eyes)
6 1/2" ovals in black, white, and green
cut green in half for the feet
2 1/4" pink circle for the cheeks

Framed him out with Nesties.....embossed with Swiss Dots.  Added ribbon and a little metallic heart, embellished with writing and tiny heart shaped rain dots.

Hogs and Kisses

I adore this little stamp from High Hopes and had to use him on something.  I colored him with watercolors and put a layer of glitter on the balloons.   I made an extra set of lips and pop dotted them to the original.  Cut out the whole thing.....framed it with a Nestie.  Added some rick rack....flowers....buttons....and computer generated sentiment.

Who Is Old?

Well, finding myself needing two "manly" birthday cards (HMMMM.....so not my favorite) this month, I decided that now was the time to break the wrapper on my new Paisley cartridge.  I loved the owl, and he turned out okay for a first attempt.   I cut shadow at 2 3/4 and 2 1/2.......regular cuts in ivory and gold striped...inked, cut apart, and layered until I was happy with it.  A few pop dots and gold crystals added for good measure.   I had the background for the card already (made it last fall, but didnt' use it)....added sentiment stickers and a little trim.

Go Hog Wild!

Birthday card for the pig lover in our family!!  Used a Sizzix original die for the pig....in MS polka dot paper.  Used pop dots between all the layers and lots of ink.  The paper is Pink Paislee (I cut 3 new sheets....shame on me.....already broke that New Year's resolution to use scraps!).  Attached some rick rack....buttons.....frame is cut with square Nesties.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Sunflower Thank You Card

This card is made from the scraps of a new layout.   I used lots and lots of sunflowers...blue and brown patterned paper.   I took a few of the leftover pieces...added a sentiment from Alphalicious...a great sketch from RAQ's challenge at Cricut.com....and here it is.  The sunflowers are Walk in My Garden.......used shadow, blackout, and regular cuts.....button centers.....ink and pop dots.  Trim is rick rack....and the punch is Martha Stewart.
