Jungle Swap Elements

This winter when I had WAAAAYYYY too much time on my hands, I signed up for several swaps. This one is due next week....and I kind of forgot about it. However, once I started working on it, I've had more fun doing it than any project in a long time. We were to create 1 paperdoll, a title (will come later), and 2 die cuts. I had so much fun I made 3!! They were to be related to a theme and mine was the Jungle. Here's what I made: caveman from PPDU (isn't that safari print felt too cool? but I had to cut it by hand) lion is the same as my card (that's where I got the idea for the card!) from Animal Kingdom. The hippo is ZooBalloo....cut once on shadow....once on regular with his head cut out and attached with pop dots. The palm trees are SYI. Such fun!!!! But I'm NOT signing up for least until after I finish the final one that is due in May!

Hope your birthday is GRRRRREAT!

I made this birthday card for my nephew. The lion is from Animal Kingdom.....cut once on shadow....then layer cut on regular. I attached this great soft, fuzzy yarn to the mane portion....backed it with a larger size mane....and attached it with pop dots. The face is ink and Sharpie....wiggle eyes. Tufts of hair on the head and tail. All the paper and chipboard is DCWV Animal Crackers and the sentiment is a rub-on. I made 10 of these lions for a swap and on the 11th one, (this one), I figured out how to do it correctly!!

Trio of Bunny Cards - Cute Card Thursday #54

I really wanted to use the bunny on the Doodlecharms cartridge this year so here he is. I'm making cards to use up scraps! Bunny is cut at Blackout-wiggly eyes, sharpie details, thread whiskers, and inked cheeks and ears. I cut a 5" oval out of the front of my card....ran it through the embosser (those Swiss Dots I love so much..) and put patterned paper on the inside of the card. Attached the bunny to the inside with pop dots and added ribbon and flowers, etc. Quick and easy.
The challenge at Cute Card Thursday was to use citrus colors, and all three cards do just that. I love the bright colors for Easter!

Basketful of Wishes - Cupcake Crafts #33

A birthday card for my aunt. I used the great sketch from Cupcake Crafts Challenge. The basket is Doodlecharms - cut once regular and once on shadow (2 1/2") I made a weave of American Crafts ribbon on the basket (the slits are there, but I enlarged them with an X-acto knife)....put the baskets together with little pink heart brads and put some foam strip between the layers for dimension. The flowers are George....from the scrap basket...with little bling centers. (I don't know how anyone scraps without those George flowers....I put them on everything!) Paper is from the DCWV Spring Stack. Sentiment is computer generated. Buttons/ribbon emellishments.
