Hoppy Spring!

Well, I made this card for a combined challenge.....High Hopes Stamps and a Spoonful of Sugar #39. I was going out of town....frantically worked to finish the card....and then..........my camera wouldn't work. So High Hopes is past, but the Spoonful of Sugar sketch is still good. I flipped it for my card.

I used a High Hopes stamp....colored in watercolor and helped out with some glittery dimensional paint. I love the pink/green combo paper.....I'll be using it a lot this spring. And I'm still using the MS gingham. The flower was a DollarTree find. For the lettering, I had a page kit I had found at Big Lots and the letters worked great with this card. Funny to be posting a spring card on a snow day!! Both kids are home with me.

Teen Girl Birthday

My cousin's daughter will become a teenager this week-end so this card is for her. The image is from a coloring book....scanned...and resized....colored with markers..and cut out. The paper was from "the closet" and the glittery flowers were from Wal-mart. The blingy jewels are Favorite Findings; sentiment is a rub on. Used the hearts embossing folder on the purple background paper.

I'll Miss You!

My daughter came in from school last night and was sad to learn her dear friend was moving. Please make a card, Mom....she begged....I was not in the mood to craft...but hey, no one ever requests anything , sooooo ... This is the result.

I cut a 3 1/2" heart out of the card wtih Doodlecharms and cut the same cut out of blue checked paper - fit it over the top and glued it. I put some embossed cardstock (Swiss Dots) behind the cut-out. The bear is clip art from off the computer...printed on cardstock and watercolored. Added some paper flowers adorned with buttons to embellish. Sentiment is computer generated and attached to a small version of the Doodlecharm heart and inked/doodled. I put the cut out hearts on the inside of the card for signatures.

Flower Frog Birthday Card

A birthday card for a little girl. I used another Pink Petticoat digistamp, colored with watercolors and paint. Papers were from the scrap bin and I used a chipboard frame to go around the image. To make the flowers on the green cardstock, I used a plain hole punch and doodled flowers with a pink gel pen. The sentiment is computer generated and ran through the Cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. I had a little scrap of ribbon left over from Valentine's day, and it matched exactly to finish it off.

Sketch Saturday #38 Soccer Frog Birthday

This sketch is from Sketch Saturday. The little frog is a digistamp from Pink Petticoat....check them out.. The soccer ball is an Ellison die cut. The paper is from a Making Memories closeout collection at the local Big Lots. I used lots of gel pen doodling on this card as well. It is a birthday card for a 4 year old.

Tear Bear Valentine Spoonful of Sugar #38

My first attempt at the tear bear. I thought I might tear my hair out.....anyway, once I figured out what I was doing, he wasn't too bad. I used a q-tip to ink around some of the edges to give him a little more dimension. Used chalk and makers on his face. The eyes are black ovals with a dash of white paint. I did tons of eyes and the simple ones really looked the best. I gave up on the nose that came with the pattern (he looked like a pig!) and just used a black circle from my odds and ends box (don't throw anything away!!!). The envelope is Doodlecharms/paper is Fancy pants Head over Heels/sentiments are rub-ons! Happy Valentine's Day!

Born to Be Wild Cute Card Thursday #47

Here is my guitar playing gorilla for Cute Card Thursday. Gorilla is cut from Animal Kingdom, guitar is cut from a piece of paper in DCSV's rockstar collection (and the background paper from there too.) Lettering is stickers and/or chipboard that I had laying around and a little bit of ZooBalloo. The boxer shorts are hand cut and that paper is Daisy D's bambino collection.

Prehistoric Valentine

Another scenic Valentine. I used PPDU for everything on this one. I wish some of the features on that cartridge had shadows. Anyway, used the cave boy and dinosaur, bones for the border, and cut the palm tree at 3 and 3 1/2 and layered the leaves. Sentiment is rub-on.....papers are all from the scrap bin.

Tons of Love! Sketch Saturday #37

I loved this sketch from Sketch Saturdays....so simple, and it allowed for patterened paper which I love. I cut the elephant from ZooBalloo on shadow and normal. Then I cut the layers on chipboard (trunk is cut 3x). Everything on this card is inked; added sticker sentiment (from Target $1), and rhinestones. I'll use for Valentine's Day, but I need to remember this card as a good kid's birthday card.

Little Stinker Spoonful of Sugar #37

Inspired by a great sketch from Spoonful of Sugar for this card. Used various papers from the pile of strays I have laying around and chose them to match that little skunk from the new DCWV Green stack (which I LOVE!!!) Sentiment is computer generated.

I Adore You Cupcake Challenge #26

Used ZooBalloo for this card....I love all the cuts on it and rarely use it. Anyway, Hippo is cut at shadow, regular, and I layer cut his face and attached with pop dots and he had to have some wiggly eyes. I love gingham.....it's Martha Stewart. The tree and grass are cut the same way, gingham paper in the shadow cut, inked and embellished with some brown dimensional paint and buttons. The taller palm tree is from Stretch Your Imagination. Sentiment is a rub on....and the adhesive ribbon is from Big Lots....love it...it's velour!

Wild Thing!

My Valentine for my teenage son! Gorilla and "Wild "Thing" are Animal Kingdom, hearts are Doodlecharms, and the stickers were just laying around. The boxer shorts are handcut, and I used lots of pop dots on this one. Paper is In My Mind's Eye and Sassafras Lass.

2 for 1! cupcake color challenge #25 and Saturday sketches #36

Used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the colors from Cupcake Crafts Challenge to create a birthday card for a dear relative. The image is from a children's coloring book called Sugar Girls, scanned, shrunk, and watercolored. Fun card to make....I love purple!
The inside says, "We won't say how long ago.......happy birthday!"

Cupcake Craft challenge TOP 5!!!!!

Woke up this morning and went to check my Monday blogs.....Cupcake Crafts Challenge......and WOW!!!! There I was among the Top 5! I am so excited! Cupcake crafts was the first challenge I entered back in October, and it is one of my absolute favorites. Their DT is awesome, and they really change up their challenges each week. The card that won, "You Make My Heart Flutter", was my first shaker card as well. Thanks to Cupcake Crafts for their great challenges. Now I get to display a cute little blinkie on my blog!
