Flowerpot Card

Really wanted to make a Flower Pot card for Mother's Day.   I tried last year but wasn't really happy with the results.  This time I used the template from My Scrap Chick ( a freebie ) and the flowers are George stars, bent and added buttons.   Leaves are the stars too.   I cut leaves and big stars at 1 3/4"....inside stars are 1 1/4".   Added a ribbon and checkerboard embossing to match the gingham.

This card works for Fantbulous Cricut and Paper Popsicle Mother's Day Challenges and The Cuttlebug Blog Flower Power Challenge as well as the The Cuttlebug Spot - Favorite Flower.

Thank You!

This is my last week on the DT at Practical Scrappers - I must say I have truly enjoyed the past 6 months.  For my final project~ featuring buttons~~ I wanted to make a thank you card.  Thank you to Christine and Angie, Kerri, Kim and all my wonderful sisters!

My card is made from paper by Me and My Big Ideas..with some Stampin' Up cardstock thrown in.  I used my Stampin' Up lg. flower punch and the MS postage stamp punch.  Frog is Sizzix and sentiment is Quickutz.  The ribbon is Prima Dude collection.  Swiss dots embossing folder here and there as well.

Thanks again for such a lovely time at Practical Scrappers.

Frog and Dragonfly Birthday Card

More Create a Critter!   Wonderful checkerboard sketch at RAQ's challenge this week for this one.   I made it double...one 4 1/2" square and one 5 1/4" square on a 6" card.  Love the way the gingham and polka dots work togther.   Added the little frog, lilly pad, and dragonfly from Create a Critter...some flowers enhanced with buttons and floss and a die cut tag with hand lettering.  And, of course, pop dots!

This card fits Totally Papercrafts Recipe Challenge this week....... 4 embellishments (tag, flowers, dragonfly, buttons), 3 papers (polka dot, gingham, and white dots), 2 ribbons (green and yellow floss tied on the flowers), and one image (frog)

So Dog-Gone Cute~~

Create a Critter arrived!    I knew this was the cartridge for me....but when I went to get it, it was all sold out.   Finally, Hallmark Scrapbooking had it at a good price, and it arrived in 2 days.   And what fun it is!~

This little puppy is the dalmation from the cart...he practically makes himself.   Added a red marker collar and that's it.  Made little bone embellishments, and my favorite part about Create a Critter?   I LOVE the happy birthday- cartridge was worth that alone.  Finished up with the card with some Swiss Dots embossing and a Fiskars scalloped edge punch.

Celebrate - Basket of Flowers

Loved the sketch at Sketches! by Tamara this week...and needed a female "everyday" card.   I used the basket from My Community and filled it with flowers from Walk in My Garden, after I embossed it with the basket weave folder.   Paper is scraps and added some ribbon, rhinestones, and buttons here, there, and everywhere!

Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad's birthday is on Mother's Day...so that means I've got to get busy on the card making!!!  There was a great sketch on the RAQ challenge on the Cricut board last week....I knew it would be perfect for Dad's card.    But what to put on it......  PolkaDoodle to the rescue.   Their challenge this week is monochromatic.   When I started searching through paper, I found a great monochromatic red argyle and it was all the inspiration I needed.  The car (my dad LOVES cars) is from Every Day Paper Dolls, cut at 1 1/4", added some silver metallic foil for windows and silver dew drops.  The stamp is from Hero Arts (a $1 set at Big Lots) and DAD is from Plantin Schoolbook.  Used the argyle embossing folder for texture.

I Love You - With All My ............

Well, the answer is "butt!"   Cute little saying I got from my daughter's MySpace stickers.....and the saying called to mind this cute little Pink Petticoat image Ella.   The sentiment is "I love you with all my butt..."    And the inside is: "I would say 'heart', but my butt is much bigger!"
Ella is colored with my Prisma pencils and Gamsol....trimmed her out and added a cute little bow with a button.  The sketch for the card is from I Love Digi and the paper is KI Memories.  This card always works for the Cooking It Up with Katie challenge this week (use a digi- something purple, and 3 of something)  Ella is a digi, her flowers are purple, and there are 3 gems- a purple one to boot!)

~OWL~ Congrats!

One of my colleagues was just named Teacher of the Year, and I wanted to congratulate her.  I used the handpieced owl from a My Scrap Chick pattern.  I love doing hand cut pieces....they are relaxing.  Anyway, I used Sassafras Lass and Prima Dude paper, some scrap ribbon, the marquee cut from Storybook (embossed with the Argyle folder), a QuickCutz Sentiment, a cute houndstooth paper flower, and a button.  And some pop dots (there always have to be pop dots, right?...)

This card works for Polka Doodle challenge (use an animal image) and Fantabulous Cricut (wings).

My Favorite Robot - Practical Scrappers Challenge

The challenge at Practical Scrappers this week is markers.   I love to use plain old Sharpies.....you can do lots of things with them.   For this card, I used markers to color the chipboard robot.   The sentiment is stenciled with orange marker.  Gears are hand cut from a clip art image....added buttons and ribbon!
