High Hopes Challenge #9

Here is my card for the High Hopes Stamps challenge #9. This was a great sketch to follow.

I used the small Stacking Stanley stamp with the PPDU elf hat added to him and American Traditional paper-Snowy Day. The sentiment is a rub-on, and I added some dimensional snowflakes for pop.

I'm new at this stamping stuff......just learning to color.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #15 Make Your Season Bright

The challnge this week at Cupcake Crafts was to make a card with something sweet. I wanted to make a candy cane heart, and when searching through my paper, I found this bright pink/black candy cane pattern in the DCWV Christmas stack. I knew this was what to use when I found the little stamp with "Make Your Season Bright" on it. Candy canes are from Christmas Cheer (4" regular pink, 4" shift in white, 4" shadow in black) Then I cut a heart out of gun metal metallic cardstock to mount the candy canes on. Ribbon is from Wal-Mart.

I Believe in Santa Claus...Sheet Load of Cards challenge

Thanks to the Cricut Chat messageboard, I've been introduced to a new card challenge/card magazine..........A Sheet Load of Cards. Lots of fun and lots of good ideas.

This challenge was to use the sketch to create a card. I used DCWV papers, ribbon from the "closet", and Doodlebug stamps.......my first attempt at stamping (other than faces.) It was fun, and I think I will try it again! I had to set the ribbon tags facing left rather than right because I didn't have any enough room.

Winter Wonderland

I found some wonderful paper at my Big Lots store.....40 sheets/package for $1...and they had 4 matching patterns....and (it gets better!), the cardstock was two-sided! I really like the patterns so I've been thinking about using them to make my Christmas cards. Thanks to a sketch challenge on the Cricut message board, I tried one out tonight.

The wreath is from Christmas solutions, the snowman is Doodlecharms (scarf from SYI, hat is the elf's from PPDU), and the snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch. I used squares from the paper to make the photo corners, and the lettering was a rub-on...another $1 Big Lots find!

Hope you enjoy!

Fall Scarecrow Cupcake Craft Challenge #14

Cupcake Crafts Challenge #14
This card was from a sketch on Cupcake Crafts Challenge. I used DCWV paper, oval pumpkins from George (thanks Hallmark Ladies for the great tutorial!), and some stickers from the "closet." Trimmed it with rafia and a brad.
The idea came from the great daily challenge at Cricut.com - today was use brown, rusty orange, and light blue.

Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life!

The theme at CAARDVARKS was chocolate. I picked up a package of vellum quotes for $1 on Saturday.......and there it was........."Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life!"..........and I knew what I wanted to make. And I could use Paper Dolls...my favorite Cricut cartridge.

I cut the dolls at 3". For one I used the mermaid hair (and gave it a trim) the shirt and sash from the pirate girl (trimmed that too) dracula pants prom boy shoes frankenstein's bride's necklace. Added a charm and some gel pens and chalk. The other doll has prom girl hair (cut off the long part) Prom boy's shirt, pants, and shoes Pigrim boy's belt Again, put on some charms and chark/gel pens......

Earrings were a little piece of gold thread I looped and glued (never again!!!) and of course, I had to paint the fingernails.

Cookies are circles from George with brown dimensional paint for the the chocolate chips.

For me, this is a happy card!!!!

Savor the Season

Squirrels are one of my favorite animals. My grandfather loved them, and when I see one, I always think of him. While washing dishes this week-end, three squirrels were playing right outside my window, and I couldn't get them off of my mind....so I had to put one on a card!

Used animal kingdom for the squirrel (and I chalked him......something I'm not good at....but trying to learn) Leaves are from Doodlecharms, so are some acorns...others from SYI Added a couple of Queen and Co brads and a chipboard card And some ribbon which no card should be without!!!!

Spots and Dots/Plaid Turkeys

Here is my Polka Dot Turkey! I used PPDU for the turkey, cut it in 5 different colors to get the little layers. American Traditional paper for the background.....little polka dots are DCWV. I had a brand new Fiskars circle punch so of course, I had to use it! Fall is a Sweetwater Chipboard. Brown sheer ribbon/bow at the top, but it doesn't show up too well. I kind of like this card!!
I decided I liked this card enough I would make another version.........plaid this time. Used DCWV paper from the Fall Stack.

My first Christmas Card!

In response to a challenge on the Cricut Chat messageboard, I had to make a green/pink/white Christmas card.......just too much fun! Also, my first use of the Martha Stewart pine branch punch that everyone loves so much. I used metallic cardstock, DCWV Christmas stack for the background paper, Christmas solutions for the stars (cut off the bottoms), Making Memories stickers (a $1 find at Big Lots!), and glitter, skittles. So far, I think this may be my favorite card. It is prettier in person....too shiny to photograph too well.

Pilgrim's Give Thanks

Thanksgiving cards using paper doll dress up. Decided to make several different versions for my family. Same little pilgrims.......different colors and embellishments.

My first attempt at peachykeen stamps on the face....I like them!

Inside says Psalms 107:1

Give thanks unto the Lord
for He is good; His love
endures forever.
Psalm 107:1

Happy Thanksgiving!

Turkey card

Gobble, gobble. I used the turkey from Stretch Your Imagination and paper from DCWV's fall stack. Added ribbon, wiggle eyes, and stickles. simple but festive!

Sock Monkey Thank You

Yet another card....this one a thank you card for my homeroom mother. Used Daisy D's Bambino collection, sticker letters, ribbon, buttons, and pop-ups. No Cricut!!! I thought it was cute. The theme in my classroom is monkeys so I thought it was appropriate.

Ain't She Tweet!

A card I "scraplifted" from the Cricut message board....with quite a bit of variation. Original card was by Donna Mundinger and was a friendship card (U R So Tweet) I used pastels and changed the wording to Ain't She Tweet....a welcome baby girl card! I think I'm going to make another with "A Little Bird Told Me...." on the outside. I could then add "it's your birthday.....you aren't feeling well.....congratulations are in order, etc." on the inside. I love that cute little bird...from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Also used Zooballoo for branch, animal kingdom for "Tweet".
