For the Birds!

That's the theme this week at Fantabulous Cricut. Use those cute little bird images, and fly on over and join in the fun! For my card this week, I used the sweet little bird from Stretch Your Imagination. Lots of layered ribbon, laces, and MS border punch. Added flowers from my **extra** bin with some rhinestones and topped it off with a Quickcutz sentiment.

Jitterbuggin' Challenge #21

Here is my card for Jitterbuggin' this week. The idea for the pumpkin with distressed stripes and spiders came from the Cricut msg. board. .....but I can't remember from who???? If you know, please tell me so I can thank them properly!!!

Paper is Imaginisce and the black polka dots was some scrap. Embossing with distressed stripes and Sizzix Swirls. Added Doodlecharms spiders to Stretch your Imagination pumpkins.....attached some jute with a button and attached a little scrap ribbon bow. Sentiment is $1 Michael's stamp (I love those things......) This is one of those cards that looks better in person than in the picture.......

Bear in a Pumpkin Autumn Card

It's Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut, and this week the emphasis is on leaves. I made a cute little bear in a pumpkin from George circles and a Stretch Your Imagination pumpkin (embossed with swirls) . Attached him to a Paper Doll Dress Up fence and attached Doodlecharms oak leaves everywhere. All the paper was scraps......yeah!! The sentiment came out of my scrap embellishment box (things I've made that just didn't quite work out at the time...)

This is the smallest card I've made (4" square) and because everything was little, I thought pop dots really set it off. I think I used a whole package!!

A Little Fall Hello - Jitterbuggin' #19

Here's this week's Jitterbuggin' card.....made out of Cloud 9 paper.....DCWV cardstock.....and cuts from Stretch Your Imagination and Create a Critter. Added embossing with the Distressed Stripes and Swiss Dots....a greeting from a $1 Michael's sticker.....and ribbon from Martha Stewart and American Crafts. The little leaves in the corners are a MS punch too. If you haven't done so, make a card for this week's Jitterbuggin' challenge. I'm also entering this card in Practical Scrappers stamp challenge too.

Sweet Little "Bird-Day" Card

The sweet little bird on Stretch Your Imagination is one of my favorite Cricut cuts - in fact, it's about all I ever use SYI for. This one is combined with some George Circles, a Plantin Schoolbook flower, and some great DCWV paper (Spring Stack 2009) Rub-on sentiment, buttons and floss, doodling with a white Jelly Roll pen, and great trim that came from JoAnn's $1 bin finish it up.
This is for Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything Goes!

Hey Chickie!

Just a cute little thinking of you card for Practical Scrappers Challenge this week.   The little bird from Stretch Your Imagination is always going to be one of my favorite cuts.  I used some great vellum plaid paper on this card along with felt flowers, ribbon, and buttons.

Prehistoric Birthday

RAQ'S challenge on the Cricut board called for a triangle card.....hmmm...well, the triangle I thought of was a volcano.  And my favorite cartridge, Create a Critter, has a great one on it. I made one and a half volcanos, only used the bottom third of one and cut it a little wider to make side flaps to glue to the back.   Cut it in half in the middle so the card would open.  Dinosaur is cut 4 layers at 5 1/4"...doodled and inked.  The trees were some I had made about a year ago for a swap as extras...I'm sure they were from Stretch Your Imagination.  Fun card!

Rest....Relax......Feel Better

Just a little get well card.   The image is an old freebie....and I colored it with pencils and gamsol.  Double matted it....and added a little sun made from Stretch Your Imagination and a button.  Sentiment is hand written.

Bunnies in a Row

After days (weeks, months) of snow, I had to make something "springy".  Used a sketch from RAQ's challenge (Cricut messageboard) and paper from DCWV's ultimate stack.  Used a little bunny from Stretch Your Imagination, added details with pink ink and a sharpie....glazed them in glitter.  Cut the squares from AC scraps with my Nesties, added some tulip and daisy cuts from Walk in My Garden.  Punched the yellow border with my new Stampin' Up border punch...added ribbon and an oval (Nesties) with hand written sentiment.  It didn't turn out like I imagined, but it's okay.   At least it looks like spring.

Sing for Joy!

Polka Doodle has a great challenge this week...a cute sketch, and you have to use a bird.  My favorite cut on Stretch Your Imagination is that cute little yellow bird so I knew I wanted to put him on my card.  It ended up being an Easter card.....nice to do something "springy" for a change.  Used SYI, George for the circles, Walk in my Garden, and MS border punch.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #37 - My mom's mother's day card

Cupcake crafts challenge #37 was to use 5 different embellishments on a card. I chose to try this on my mom's mother's day card. Background paper is DCWV. Everything on this card is George - the flower pot is made from two of the shape cuts-embossed with birds and swirls. The flowers are George flower 2....cut at 1 1/2" and 1"-inked and layered. The purple flowers are flower 2 folded around a toothpick. Lettering is George too. The little birdie is Stretch Your Imagination.

My 5 embellishments are 1) raffia 2) charm 3) buttons 4 ) rhinestones 5) square beads. There is also green wired ribbon used for stems on the flowers, but it all got covered up!

I Adore You Cupcake Challenge #26

Used ZooBalloo for this card....I love all the cuts on it and rarely use it. Anyway, Hippo is cut at shadow, regular, and I layer cut his face and attached with pop dots and he had to have some wiggly eyes. I love gingham.....it's Martha Stewart. The tree and grass are cut the same way, gingham paper in the shadow cut, inked and embellished with some brown dimensional paint and buttons. The taller palm tree is from Stretch Your Imagination. Sentiment is a rub on....and the adhesive ribbon is from Big Lots....love it...it's velour!

High Hopes Challenge #11 Flower Power

The challenge this week was to use a flower on your card. I didn't have a stamp with a flower and although high stamps are my favorite, I didn't use any stamp at all. I made a poinsettia out of SYI with Cricut, ink, and a little glitter. Paper is Daisy D's and the sentiment is a rub-on. Tied all together with a raffia bow!

Ain't She Tweet!

A card I "scraplifted" from the Cricut message board....with quite a bit of variation. Original card was by Donna Mundinger and was a friendship card (U R So Tweet) I used pastels and changed the wording to Ain't She Tweet....a welcome baby girl card! I think I'm going to make another with "A Little Bird Told Me...." on the outside. I could then add "it's your birthday.....you aren't feeling well.....congratulations are in order, etc." on the inside. I love that cute little bird...from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Also used Zooballoo for branch, animal kingdom for "Tweet".
