Happy Birthday Mom!

Hello Bloggers! Well, it has certainly been a while for me doing any bloggin' or scrappin', but hopefully that is changing. I put together this card for my Mom's birthday today. It had been so long since I have scrapped that it took FOREVER! but I like the final outcome. Used ZooBalloo for the flower stem....Walk in my Garden for the flowers......a distressing embossing folder for the leaves....and Swiss Dots on the flowers with some ink. The sentiment is Stampin' Up on a Stampin' Up punch.....paper is ColorBok......and did I mention pop dots??? Well, I used a couple...or a few....or LOTS of those! And tied it all up with a little ribbon bow!

Here's the dimensional view:

Hip-Hippo-Ray

Reveal day over at Fantabulous Cricut....and the theme this week is At The Zoo....animal shaped cuts. I chose one of my favorite animals....the ZooBalloo Hippo. Added some doodling....some rhinestones.....and pop dots behind his head. The papers and accents were from a great Colorbok collection and the sentiment is Imaginesce.

Jitterbuggin Sketch 3 - Just Monkeyin' Around

It's Thursday, and that's reveal day at Jitterbuggin' Challenge.  There is a sketch to follow, and you are to use a Cricut monkey and 3 different patterned papers.   I chose the monkey from Create a Critter (because I've never made him).....papers from the scrap drawer (I love using stuff up...and it still looks different from other cards I've made).....a guitar from Everyday Paper Dolls (trimmed with baby stars from an MS punch and floss)......vines from ZooBalloo...
Nesties for the frame.....swirls embossing folder...
and Thicker letters.

Hippo Birthday Card

Happy Birthday Nina!  This little hippo is from ZooBalloo....cut at 3", shadow and layer.  The doodling is a scraplift from Ginny Thueson, who is the absolute best doodler I know. (check out her stuff here:  Ginny's blog.  My little hippo pales by comparison but she was fun to make.  Used paper and chipboard from a Colorbok set, lots of ribbon, lace, rhinestones.  Sentiment is computer generated in a circle and popdotted!

Jungle Swap Elements

This winter when I had WAAAAYYYY too much time on my hands, I signed up for several swaps. This one is due next week....and I kind of forgot about it. However, once I started working on it, I've had more fun doing it than any project in a long time. We were to create 1 paperdoll, a title (will come later), and 2 die cuts. I had so much fun I made 3!! They were to be related to a theme and mine was the Jungle. Here's what I made: caveman from PPDU (isn't that safari print felt too cool? but I had to cut it by hand) lion is the same as my card (that's where I got the idea for the card!) from Animal Kingdom. The hippo is ZooBalloo....cut once on shadow....once on regular with his head cut out and attached with pop dots. The palm trees are SYI. Such fun!!!! But I'm NOT signing up for anymore....at least until after I finish the final one that is due in May!

Born to Be Wild Cute Card Thursday #47

Here is my guitar playing gorilla for Cute Card Thursday. Gorilla is cut from Animal Kingdom, guitar is cut from a piece of paper in DCSV's rockstar collection (and the background paper from there too.) Lettering is stickers and/or chipboard that I had laying around and a little bit of ZooBalloo. The boxer shorts are hand cut and that paper is Daisy D's bambino collection.

Tons of Love! Sketch Saturday #37

I loved this sketch from Sketch Saturdays....so simple, and it allowed for patterened paper which I love. I cut the elephant from ZooBalloo on shadow and normal. Then I cut the layers on chipboard (trunk is cut 3x). Everything on this card is inked; added sticker sentiment (from Target $1), and rhinestones. I'll use for Valentine's Day, but I need to remember this card as a good kid's birthday card.

I Adore You Cupcake Challenge #26

Used ZooBalloo for this card....I love all the cuts on it and rarely use it. Anyway, Hippo is cut at shadow, regular, and I layer cut his face and attached with pop dots and he had to have some wiggly eyes. I love gingham.....it's Martha Stewart. The tree and grass are cut the same way, gingham paper in the shadow cut, inked and embellished with some brown dimensional paint and buttons. The taller palm tree is from Stretch Your Imagination. Sentiment is a rub on....and the adhesive ribbon is from Big Lots....love it...it's velour!

Joy to the World - Sketch Saturday 28 and Cute Card Thursday - punches

Just a cute little "happy card" using the great sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge 28. I had to reverse the little accent dots to get everything to fit. The penguins are Zooballoo, the paper is the Snowy Day collection (I keep using it!), and the tree is made with the MS branch punch with a double MS snowflake punch for the star. The sentiment is computer generated. Hopefully, this card will bring a little joy to someone!

Ain't She Tweet!

A card I "scraplifted" from the Cricut message board....with quite a bit of variation. Original card was by Donna Mundinger and was a friendship card (U R So Tweet) I used pastels and changed the wording to Ain't She Tweet....a welcome baby girl card! I think I'm going to make another with "A Little Bird Told Me...." on the outside. I could then add "it's your birthday.....you aren't feeling well.....congratulations are in order, etc." on the inside. I love that cute little bird...from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Also used Zooballoo for branch, animal kingdom for "Tweet".
