I had fun the other night making little Trick or Treat bears. This one was inspired by the challenge at PaperCutz this week, which was to use a skeleton. I used the sketch from RAQ's challenge on the Cricut boards....and everything on here is from my leftover Halloween box. I seem to buy LOTS of Halloween scrappy stuff....and how much can you actually use? So that is my goal.....to use up some of it!

Boo to You!
I saw the cutest little clip art images of Halloween bears, and they so inspired me to try to reproduce them with my Cricut......not hard at all with George and Paper Doll Dress Up! I used George circles and ovals to construct my bear, clothes from Paper Doll's cut at 4 inches, and added some Cuttlebug embossing (Swiss Dots....sooooo my favorite!) to dress up my little witch. Finished it off with detailing pen, chalk, ink, and a little floss bow. Paper is from last year Martha Stewart Stack....I cut around the moon so it would work. Added Martha Stewart Checkerboard borders and little Spider Web corners. Sentiment and ribbon were bought at Hobby Lobby last year.
Be on the lookout for more little Halloween bears....coming soon!

I'm Wild......

about a couple of my young nephews. Today is a good day, and when it's good, I try to craft. Some days it works and others it doesn't.....but today was okay, and I got one Valentine made. I hate not to send them to my little nieces/nephews....and my 92 year old grandmother. But I haven't been able to craft, and I'm in serious trouble this year. Perhaps I'll get a few done anyway.
This card is copied from a child's Valentine card......card displays are great for inspiration. He's cuttlebugged and rickracked.......composed from George and Birthday Bash. Letters are little tiny stickers....my eyes really appreciated those for sure!

Breast Cancer Awareness Owl
The theme this week at Jitterbuggin' is wise guys or owls!!! Add your favorite owl to a card with a circle and square somewhere and join in the fun! The prize is Cricut solutions Thanksgiving this month. And any entry for Jitterbuggin' would also count for Fantabulous Cricut this week (Birds) too. My paper is KI Memories....owl is Create a Critter.....and tied it all together with a big peach bow. (the square in the center is Imaginisce paper (Halloween......) The sparkles are Martha Stewart. I chose pink because he is my breast cancer awareness owl. This is also for Paper Cutz Challenge.

Bear in a Pumpkin Autumn Card

It's Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut, and this week the emphasis is on leaves. I made a cute little bear in a pumpkin from George circles and a Stretch Your Imagination pumpkin (embossed with swirls) . Attached him to a Paper Doll Dress Up fence and attached Doodlecharms oak leaves everywhere. All the paper was scraps......yeah!! The sentiment came out of my scrap embellishment box (things I've made that just didn't quite work out at the time...)
This is the smallest card I've made (4" square) and because everything was little, I thought pop dots really set it off. I think I used a whole package!!

Peeking Kitty Noel

Well, this is perhaps the most frustrating card I've ever made.....and I'm not even sure I like it even now. The tree is a 3" George Triangle 2...covered with Martha Stewart 1" scalloped circle punches....1" George star and a fiber bow. Stand is hand cut gold foil. The kitty is from Create a Critter....2 1/2" and I gave her some paws. The letters are mounted on Stampin' Up marquis punches....layered with pop dots....cut in gold metallic foil with Storybook. The paper is cut with a Stampin' Up border punch....and embossed with the Snowflakes folder. Card is edged with some gold sequins edging. The colors are quite right in the picture, but that happens sometimes esp. with reds.

Frank!

I was blog hopping last night and stumbled into Stamping with Natalie - she's a Stamping Up Demonstrator who focuses on punch art. Cute, cute, stuff! Well, she had a Frankenstein monster made from punches I loved...and thought he would be easy to translate into Cricut cuts. So here he is:
Marquee cut from Storybook: 4 1/4" one for head and one for hair.....hand trim
Cricles from George: 3 1 1/4"- 2 white - 2 green 2 3/4" black 1 1 1/4" oval
That's it.....detailed him with a Sharpie......embossed the hair. Sentiment is a Big Lots "treasure".

Sweet Little "Bird-Day" Card

The sweet little bird on Stretch Your Imagination is one of my favorite Cricut cuts - in fact, it's about all I ever use SYI for. This one is combined with some George Circles, a Plantin Schoolbook flower, and some great DCWV paper (Spring Stack 2009) Rub-on sentiment, buttons and floss, doodling with a white Jelly Roll pen, and great trim that came from JoAnn's $1 bin finish it up.
This is for Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything Goes!

All paper and cardstock is DCWV (Spring 2009 collection)...added somed bling, buttons, floss, and embossing with a new Sizzix folder (which I really like....and must try again in a bigger version.) Sentiment is a rub-on.....Cricut cuts are George (circles) and Plantin Schoolbook (flower) Fits right into Cricut Cardz Challenge this week: Anything Goes!

Smile....

The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week is Smile.....and nothing makes me smile more than sock monkeys. I've made a version with Paper Doll Dress Up...and I have the new one on B is for Boy....but this one is made with shapes from my favorite cartridge, George.
The face is a 3 1/2" circle....ears are 1" oval cut in half. The ovals are both oval cuts, cut at 3 ". The hat is a 3 1/2" circle, half....trimmed until it looked right. Went over him with a Sharpie...added button eyes and another one on the hat. "Smile" is from Paisley, cut at 1 1/2" and doodled.
Card is 5" square and double layered, used the corner punch on all the layers.

Star Spangled Card
Here is my card for the Jitterbuggin' Challenge sketch this week. Believe it or not, this is the first patriotic card I've made. We are usually on vacation, and I suppose I'm too busy to scrap. Hmmm....won't be the last....it was fun! George stars and circles, Autumn leaves stamps, and scrap paper. Lots of Cat's Eye Chestnut Roan ink......little ribbon and raffia. Stars are embossed with the twigs folder and layered with a button. This is for Fantabulous Cricut. MySheriCrafts, Cricut Cardz Challenge, Papercraft Star, Cuttlebug Blog, and Cuttlebug Spot too.

Father's Day Card
My Daddy - like so many- has his own special chair. When I saw this cute little digi from Pollycraft, I knew I had to put it on his father's day card. I used Cricut Scalloped Circles (Alphalicious) and some George plain circles to finish it off. Happy Father's Day Dad. This fits the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge and Polka Doodles this week

Flowerpot Card
Really wanted to make a Flower Pot card for Mother's Day. I tried last year but wasn't really happy with the results. This time I used the template from My Scrap Chick ( a freebie ) and the flowers are George stars, bent and added buttons. Leaves are the stars too. I cut leaves and big stars at 1 3/4"....inside stars are 1 1/4". Added a ribbon and checkerboard embossing to match the gingham.
This card works for Fantbulous Cricut and Paper Popsicle Mother's Day Challenges and The Cuttlebug Blog Flower Power Challenge as well as the The Cuttlebug Spot - Favorite Flower.

Sock Monkey Birthday Card
I came up with this sock monkey design over a year ago for a layout, but I've never put him on a card. He seemed to fit several challenges this week so I pulled the instructions back out. The full details can be found on my scrapbooking blog here.
Paper is fabric from Love, Else....border and sentiment are stamped from a new pkg. I got for $1 at Big Lots yesterday. Balloons are from Everyday Paper Dolls.
This design fits several challenges:
Cricut Cardz Challenge make a child's birthday card
Fantabulous Cricut use the word birthday and balloons
Cookin' It Up with Katie use fabric (the striped background is adhered fabric paper from Love, Else) use decorative edge scissors and your favorite technique (paper piecing)
Raq's Challenge on the cricut msg board (sketch)
Use Your Paper Dolls Cartridge to create something (cricut msg board)
He's going to be my daughter's birthday card....she loves sock monkeys.

Sing for Joy!
Polka Doodle has a great challenge this week...a cute sketch, and you have to use a bird. My favorite cut on Stretch Your Imagination is that cute little yellow bird so I knew I wanted to put him on my card. It ended up being an Easter card.....nice to do something "springy" for a change. Used SYI, George for the circles, Walk in my Garden, and MS border punch. Sentiment is computer generated.
