Three Peas in a Pod

My sister's friend just found out she's having triplets....and that calls for a card. I used Storybook for the marquee....embossed with Swiss Dots and inked. New Arrival for the pea.....just cut out three heads. The little heads have 1 -2-3 little pieces of hair each. Layered the paper in reverse stripes with some pop dots and tied on a big Martha Stewart bow. Inside says: A chord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4;12

Hula Bear Card

My little niece is having a Luau for her third birthday this week. I wanted a cutsie, little girl hula girl instead of the one on Life's a Beach......so I made my own with Create a Critter and Paper Doll Dress Up. (and a Bikini top from Life's a Beach) Anyway, I like how she turned out.....just right for a little tiny girl.

First, I chose the sketch from RAQ's challenge on the Cricut board this week. I used the bear from Create a Critter cut at 3 1/4"....black regular cut.....ivory layer one.....brown layer two. Inked the cheeks and put some flowers on her ears...added a bikini top from Life's a Beach....cut at Real Dial Size 1 1/4 inches...added a flower and a gem. The skirt is from Paper Doll Dress up....regular cut at 4 1/4" and 4 3/4", inked and popped between the layers. Her lei is cut from PDDU too @ 4 1/4".....added more flowers and gems. The paper is from Me and My Big Ideas.....ribbon is American Crafts (blue and green) and Target $1 bin (orange). The metal flower slides are from Oriental Trading. Added frames cut with my oval Nesties...and pop dots. "Happy Birthday" is from Create a Critter.....doodled.

No Gypsy or Design Studio ( I don't have the latter.....and I can't figure out my Gypsy) so no cut file....but it's easy to follow with the measurements above.

Sock Monkey Baby Girl

Bugaboo had the cutest little freebie digital of sock monkeys a while back....and I couldn't resist turning this one into a baby card.  A little nontraditional, but very girly-girl.  I colored her with Gamsol and added some sparkly glaze.....paper from a HL Basics stack....added a heart border from Paisley....lots of ribbon and buttons. Sentiment is stamped.  This will match Fantabulous Cricut where the challenge is "baby" and Frosted Designs where the challenge is buttons.

Baby Shower gift enclosure

This is my first card with the New Arrival cartridge. Basically bought it for the animals (I love that monkey!), but I think I'm going to get quite a bit of use out of it for other things as well. This card is American Crafts (I love the scalloped edge...and the whole pack of 12 costs $2 at Big Lots) I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss dots folder. The baby is from NA (standing baby) cut at 2". Cut white diaper on shadow....added ink and colored her little "curl" on the top of her head. The flower fram is from Pooh and Friends....cut at 3 1/2" I put a George oval (embossed as well) behind it and embellished the flowers with some pearlized paint drops. Background paper was from the scrap pile.

Ain't She Tweet!

A card I "scraplifted" from the Cricut message board....with quite a bit of variation. Original card was by Donna Mundinger and was a friendship card (U R So Tweet) I used pastels and changed the wording to Ain't She Tweet....a welcome baby girl card! I think I'm going to make another with "A Little Bird Told Me...." on the outside. I could then add "it's your birthday.....you aren't feeling well.....congratulations are in order, etc." on the inside. I love that cute little bird...from Cricut's Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Also used Zooballoo for branch, animal kingdom for "Tweet".
