Star Spangled Card

Here is my card for the Jitterbuggin' Challenge sketch this week. Believe it or not, this is the first patriotic card I've made. We are usually on vacation, and I suppose I'm too busy to scrap. Hmmm....won't be the last....it was fun! George stars and circles, Autumn leaves stamps, and scrap paper. Lots of Cat's Eye Chestnut Roan ink......little ribbon and raffia. Stars are embossed with the twigs folder and layered with a button. This is for Fantabulous Cricut. MySheriCrafts, Cricut Cardz Challenge, Papercraft Star, Cuttlebug Blog, and Cuttlebug Spot too.

My First Tri-Shutter Card!

My first attempt at the tri-shutter card, but it won't be my last.  How fun........and a great way to use scraps!   I used new paper this time, though.   I had a set of tool "stuff" from Oriental trading that I used.  Too fun!

Father's Day Card

My Daddy - like so many- has his own special chair.  When I saw this cute little digi from Pollycraft, I knew I had to put it on his father's day card.  I used Cricut Scalloped Circles (Alphalicious) and some George plain circles to finish it off.  Happy Father's Day Dad.  This fits the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge and Polka Doodles this week

Go Team - Jitterbuggin' Sketch 5

Here's my card for Jitterbuggin' this week.  The theme is Sports - use grey - and put something Cricut on there.  I got everything out to make my card - then realized I had no grey.  Started over, but found some great sports paper in an old DCWV Fall Stack that matched a scrap of grey plaid I had in the scrap file.  The little bear (and he is little - 2 1/4") is from Create a Critter.   He's holding a 3/4" (real dial size) football from Everyday Paper Dolls.  Sentiment is cut out of the paper.  Added ribbon, a punched star border (MS punch), used a $1 star punch for some details and to get some paper stars, added ribbon, and some little silver star sequins..  That sketch is hard.....it was fun to make digitally, but it tore me up on paper.   I made my card too little, and that caused the problems I think.

Blue Bird of Happiness - Jitterbuggin' Challenge #4!!!

Just now getting to the Jitterbuggin' challenge for this week.  Follow the sketch**use complimentary colors (blue and orange here)*** some ribbon*** and a Cricut flower (my little one is from Walk in My Garden...layered, embossed, button added)    Paper is from DCWV Flower Shower stack....which I've learned to really love, and I only bought the mat stacks........added blue ribbon and orange raindots.   Sentiment is stamped from an Oriental Trading set, and the little birds are a Stampin' Up punch.

Hi....from a Turtle

The Ad Challenge on the Cricut Board last week (yes, I'm a bit behind.....) was dk green, lime green, purple, and white.   I was intrigued by that color scheme and had to try it.  I chose the turtle from Create a Critter, paper from DCWV's Summer Blossom stack, and some leftover Thickers.  The turtle needed something else, so my favorite cartridge, Paper Doll Dress Up, to the rescue........and she got a hat!  A little embossing, some cute little flowers and gems, a bit of rick rack, and voila!

A Monstrous Celebration!

This card is pretty much a scraplift from the Pollycraft blog.  I loved the little monsters from their Critters and Cogs collection...and it matched one of the sketches at RAQ's challenge.  Cropped the monsters heads into 2" squares...colored with Gamsol....lots of matting on this one....and added a stamp from Big Lots.  Trimmed it out with some ribbon and buttons.

Serenade Butterfly

I was trying to make a card from scraps......which is good for my scrap pile but hard on my blood pressure.   It seems like everything is so much more difficult when I'm only using scraps.  Anyway, I fussed...and pulled off....and started over...and this is what I finally came up with.  The butterfly is from Serenade, used a MS scalloped circle punch, and a Quickcutz sentiment.  This is my parents anniversary card, and I'm entering it in Polka Doodles modern/retro anniversary card challenge.

Happy Birthday Owl

When in doubt, make an owl.....kind of my go-to cut.   This one is from Create a Critter.....added some stickles.  Paper is scraps....ribbon is Prima.  Daisies are from Walk In My Garden.   Sentiment and moon are from Create a Critter too.  Embossing is Swiss Dots.

Sock Monkey Baby Girl

Bugaboo had the cutest little freebie digital of sock monkeys a while back....and I couldn't resist turning this one into a baby card.  A little nontraditional, but very girly-girl.  I colored her with Gamsol and added some sparkly glaze.....paper from a HL Basics stack....added a heart border from Paisley....lots of ribbon and buttons. Sentiment is stamped.  This will match Fantabulous Cricut where the challenge is "baby" and Frosted Designs where the challenge is buttons.

Hey Chickie!

Just a cute little thinking of you card for Practical Scrappers Challenge this week.   The little bird from Stretch Your Imagination is always going to be one of my favorite cuts.  I used some great vellum plaid paper on this card along with felt flowers, ribbon, and buttons.

Jitterbuggin Sketch 3 - Just Monkeyin' Around

It's Thursday, and that's reveal day at Jitterbuggin' Challenge.  There is a sketch to follow, and you are to use a Cricut monkey and 3 different patterned papers.   I chose the monkey from Create a Critter (because I've never made him).....papers from the scrap drawer (I love using stuff up...and it still looks different from other cards I've made).....a guitar from Everyday Paper Dolls (trimmed with baby stars from an MS punch and floss)......vines from ZooBalloo...
Nesties for the frame.....swirls embossing folder...
and Thicker letters.

Jitterbuggin' Sketch 2 - Hunny Bear

2
Just now getting to the Jitterbuggin' Challenge this week.  You had to use a Cricut cut of food (honey), something black (details on the bear and honey pot), and plaid.  And follow the sketch of course!  If you haven't entered, hop over and check it out!

The bear is a MyScrapChick pattern, reduced by half.  The honey pot came from Pooh and Friends.  Ribbon, buttons, and pop dots used to created a dimensional frame.
