Holy Smokes! Frosted Designs Handwriting Challenge.
My cousin, the barbeque king, has a birthday this week, and I had to make some sort of grilling card. I used From My Kitchen (got it for Christmas and just broke the seal) for the grill (cut at 4" in maroon and silver foil) and the pig (cut at 2 1/2" and inked). the puffs of smoke are from Pooh and Friends. Paper is CherryArt and My Mind's Eye. Sentiment is handlettered, which makes this card eligible for Frosted Designs Challenge this week.

Bunnies in a Row
After days (weeks, months) of snow, I had to make something "springy". Used a sketch from RAQ's challenge (Cricut messageboard) and paper from DCWV's ultimate stack. Used a little bunny from Stretch Your Imagination, added details with pink ink and a sharpie....glazed them in glitter. Cut the squares from AC scraps with my Nesties, added some tulip and daisy cuts from Walk in My Garden. Punched the yellow border with my new Stampin' Up border punch...added ribbon and an oval (Nesties) with hand written sentiment. It didn't turn out like I imagined, but it's okay. At least it looks like spring.

Couple of Simple Cards
Played at making a couple of "scraps" cards while DH was watching tv last night. Both are from sketches at RAQ's card challenge on the Cricut board this week. The first one is made with an embossed piece of bright blue paper (checkerboard), some lime green AC paper, 2 types of ribbon and a premade tag. Added a happy birthday laser cut sticker, a few buttons, and all done!
This card was made from the scraps of the my Easter card, "Sing for Joy!" I love that paper and had to use it for something. Used a half marquee, a rectangle trimmed with an MS punch, some blue ribbon, yellow buttons, and a daisy made from Walk in My Garden. No sentiment yet as this one could go for many occasions. I'll add it when I need it.

Sing for Joy!
Polka Doodle has a great challenge this week...a cute sketch, and you have to use a bird. My favorite cut on Stretch Your Imagination is that cute little yellow bird so I knew I wanted to put him on my card. It ended up being an Easter card.....nice to do something "springy" for a change. Used SYI, George for the circles, Walk in my Garden, and MS border punch. Sentiment is computer generated.

Birthday Bee in Plaid and Polka Dots
The challenge at Frosted Designs this week is polka dots and plaids.....my 2 favorite things! I so adore combining patterns. I used some florals with my dots and plaids (all from the scrap pile too!!)...and made a little flower pot and bee with my Cricut (George, Walk in My Garden, and Pooh and Friends) Added some blingy accents and a felt sentiment....trimmed it all out with polka dot ribbon.

Elegant Birthday Card
Great sketch on RAQ's challenge this week....for a tall card! And that 's the challenge at Cricut Cardz this week so too.....so here's my take. I used the Black/White pad from HL for the paper, made little flowers with Storybook, added a laser cut "Happy Birthday" framed by a Storybook marquee, and added some rhinestone trim.

Blue Jean Pocket Teddy
I made a Valentine with a little teddy bear peeking out of a pocket heart and loved it so much, I had to try it again. One of the sketches at RAQ's Challenge this week was something peeking out of a pocket...what are the odds? So here's my latest version. Paper is Sassafras Lass and used Storybook for the little flowers. Bear is from a My Scrap Chick pattern (altered to suit my needs!) Rub-on sentiment. Pocket came from an old pair of Kati's jeans.

U Rock My World
There is a great sketch at Practical Scrappers this week by Gloria Stengal. So much fun I had to try it. And it worked out great for a Valentine for my teen-age son (They are difficult, aren't they?)
I used Everyday Paper Dolls for the "world" and the alien....George for the stars......Alphalicious for the oval (with stickers) and Pooh Font for "my world." Lots of carts for a simple card....used sharpied, gold metallic gel ink, and a white jelly roll to finish it. (and Pink alien cheeks!)

Pocket Heart Teddy
I've been spending time at the Splitcoaststampers forum and have found lots of great new ideas and techniques. One was a great Pocket Heart template...so many uses I can think of for this one. I decided to use some great K & co paper, added a little hand pieced teddy bear (original pattern from My Scrap Chick....altered by me), an Alphalicious oval with sticker sentiment, some ribbon, and metallic hearts. I'm so happy with the way the bear turned out....gonna try some more like this.
I'm entering this one in Polka Doodles paper piecing challenge for this week.

Sunbonnet Sue
My grandmother's Valentine!! My grandmother (who will be soon be 91) is an award-winning quilter so I took one of her old quilt patterns and made a card with it. The Sunbonnet Sue is cut by hand, trimmed with lace, and the bonnet is popped. Framed her in a Nestie, embossed with Swiss dots and ink. The background is George Hearts...for the patchwork one, I cut 1 1/4" squares, cut on the diagonal, made a block and cut the heart out of it. Sentiment is a sticker from Target.

Thank You
My attempt at the black and white card. The teal flower is from Storybook, cut on short and regular, then layered in different sizes. Great trim was on a roll and was a find from Tuesday Morning. Thank you is from Alphalicious.
