It's Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut, and this week's challenge is ribbon. I chose a pretty red/white gingham ribbon and added a Create a Critter reindeer. He's got some glitter and bling, and I attached him to a frame cut from Nesties, swirled with my Cuttlebug. Paper is Joann's Peppermint Forest and some Making Memories green plaid. Hop over to Fantabulous Cricut and join in the fun!

Operation Christmas Child

Our family participates in a Christmas charity called Operation Christmas Child. You pack shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts for a child of a particular age and sex, pay a $7 shipping fee, and drop the boxes off at a local drop-off facility. The videos of children receiving these gifts will bring tears to your eyes. These are the little cards I made with Winter Frolic to pack in the boxes....they have John 3:16 inside.

If you are interested in participating in this project (and I promise you...you will be blessed!), go to Operation Christmas Child. Deadlines are next week, but you still have time!!

Jitterbuggin' Tree

Well, I'm really not late....I did get this one finished last night, but I am late in posting. I kept putting off the Jitterbuggin' sketch......then finally it dawned on me it was the fall colors I wasn't interested in. And when I chose some Christmas paper, the card was right there. That and the fact that I got a new Winter Frolic cartridge yesterday which is where the tree came from. Added hand cut photo corners.....and rows of sequins and buttons.

Christmas Joy - Jitterbuggin Sketch 16

The challenge at Jitterbuggin' this week is to use your favorite colors and your favorite things. My favorite thing is Christmas so I made a Christmas card - out of pink and green. There is a tutorial over there on how to make a folded frame - hmmmm- they are pretty but I had a hard time. Used K & company doublesided paper......Joy from Create a Critter cut at 1 1/2".....and snowflakes from an MS punch....added some ribbon. Set everything on a scalloped circle from Paisley. Hop over to Jitterbuggin' and show us your favorite things! This card works for Cricut Cardz Challenge too - scalloped circle.

Merry Christ-mouse!

The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week is Christmas in July! My daughter suggested a mouse because they make her think of Christmas...and I've never tried the one on Create a Critter. He's cut normally at 3". He needed clothes so I decided to use the snowman accessories from Snow Friends. Worked pretty well....cut the hat and brim at 1 1/2" Real Dial Size and the vest at 1/2"" I'm not sure what the scarf is because it was just an extra cut that worked perfectly. I decorated him with pink chalk and white gel pen.....some green dimensional paint, and some glitter glaze...topped off with a pearl button. I was going to make a card, but while hunting through "the closet" I found a round piece of chipboard that was just the right size for Mr. Mouse. So I decided an ornament would be cute. Covered the chipboard with DCWV paper...added a red ribbon....and trimmed around the edges with green scalloped ribbon that was just the perfect size. I think this might be my Christmas card for this year......they are flat enough to mail....they won't get thrown away....and think of all the fun creating the Christmas critters!!
"Critters" is the theme at My Sheri Crafts this week so I'm entering this little guy there! And he also works for Polkadoodles Christmas in July theme.

Hoppy Holidays!

A happy non-traditonal card in traditional colors.  This was actually my design team submission for Chirper Challenge, but they aren't publishing before Christmas so I thought I would share.  American Greetings paper....punched the sentiment....and the little "hoppy" frogs are made and decorated with Paper Doll Dress Up!   Remember that real dial size really allows you to have fun with the accessories on the paper doll cartridges.

Ornament

Had scraps leftover from a scrapbook layout (check out my other blog on Wednesday!!!) and had to use it.   I love the red/lime green combo.  Easy card as the ornament was chipboard....attached the paper...added some bling and a little piece of ribbon ....a red snowflake...and a stamped sentiment.

Branch Punch Wreath

I finally made a traditional Christmas card.  Actually, I realized I hadn't used my MS branch punch at all this year.....so out it came!   Used DCWV cardstock....red foil embossed with the Cuttlebug (first time I tried foil....and I LOVE it)  and made the wreath with the punch.  I cut out a 3" "O" to use as the frame.   Attached the bow, and that's it!

Heart Shaped Santa

I remembered making heart shaped Santas at school when I was a teacher.  Thought it would be a good project for this morning.  Using all George, I cut 2 3" hearts....cut the top off of one...and embossed the cut piece with Swirls.  Cut the rectange 2 at 31/2" in flesh...glued to the center of the heart and trimmed.   Used the triangle 2 cut at 2" for the hat....added a 1" circle (embossed)   The mustache is hand trimmed from the top of the heart.  Attached the beard and mustache with poppers...added some buttons....drew on a face.   Then I attached some ribbon for trim.  Paper is DCWV....cut the marquee and cut a circle out of the center.   Sentiment is cut from a piece of cardstock.

Scalloped Santa Claus

3 challenges in one!   This card is for Frosted Designs (scallops), Just Buggin' (Christmas), anc Cricut Cardz (something that starts with an "s").  The Santa is made from a George 3" flesh circle, and red and white scalloped circles cut in half from Alphalicious.  Added a 1" George oval in pink for the nose.  Eyes are done by hand.....chalked the cheeks.  Glittered the hat....trim is a flower punch.  Added a button, some white doodles, and white dimensional paint on the beard.  Paper is DCWV........and a "Jolly" metal tag and rhinestone edging.

Santa Kitty

Used a great sketch for RAQ's challenge @ Cricut.  The little image is a digi stamp....which I made "tiny"..colored with watercolor pencils....and paint....and glitter....and stuck on stars and gems for good measure.  Drew the little kitty's face myself since I painted over it.  The squares are Nesties, cut on the cuttlebug.   Paper is K and Company.   Stamped sentiment.

Warm Wishes

Loved the sketch on RAQ's challenge....last week!   Needless to say I'm a little behind, but a great sketch is a great sketch.  Here is my version.

Used Doodlecharms Snowman, cut in layers on white and pearlescent white.  Inked the cheeks and sharpied the face.  He's cut at 3".  The hat is PDDU, magician, cut at 1 1/4" RDS.  Added a strip of plaid.  The scarf is EDPD, cut at 1 1/4" RDS in plaid.  Added buttons.   The background snowflakes are from Winter Woodlands, added gems.  The sentiment is a generic stamp from last Christmas.  Attached some buttons and gem stones, MS snowflakes....and the paper was all scraps.

"Wonder"-ful Snowfriend

This card was my DT creation for this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers.  We had to create a Christmas card.....not a very difficult task.  Hop on over and play along.......everyone is making Christmas cards this week.

This snowfriend is cut at 4" (much easier to deal with).   Added some dimensional paint and doodling to spruce him up.  Added some sparkly snowflakes and put him on a mat cut with my Nesties and inked.  Framed with some $1 Target ribbon.

Little Pink and Green Snowfriend! Cricut Cardz #3 and Frosted Designs

The challenge at Cricut Cardz was to use pink and green on a card........my favorite combo....so this was lots of fun!  At Frosted Designs, you were to use concentric shapes....which I did with the background (rectangles) and the mat (squares).  I used all scraps on this card...yeah!   The snowfriend is cut at 3 1/2" and I just take parts I like from each one.   I've also found that if you cut the hats 1/2" bigger they seem to do better.   His little face is a Peachy Keen stamp (which I forgot that I had......)  Added glitter, and ink, and buttons, and rhinestones......MS punch snowflakes with rhinestones (I didn't wait for the glue to dry....) and a computer generated sentiment.   The mat is embossed with Swiss Dots.

Merry Little Snowmen

Got the new Snowfriends cartridge....couldn't wait to try it.  Love these little fellas, but they are cut at 2" and that is TINY!   Embellished them with pencils, sharpies, chalk, and glitter.  Added a little bling and a fuzzy pompon.   Really want to play with this cartridge a little more.  Snowflake border is MS punches cut on metallic paper with little jewels attached.

Doodlecharms Santa Card

I found a sketch I like for my Christmas cards, and the plan is one each day until I'm finished.  This one is DCWV paper on the outside....wrapping paper on the inside.  Cut off the bottom inch of the front to show the inside strip.  The sentiment is framed with the MS loopy punch set, computer generated, and doodled.  The trim is some Memory Maker's ribbon.  The santa is Doodlecharms, cut at 2 1/2" on flesh blackout, red and white layers.   I ran the white through the Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder. Inked everything with Creamy Brown.    Glittered all the red and white....inked and chalked the cheeks and nose....added google eyes....popped the moustache.  Added a rhinestone button to the hat. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Blingy Christmas Elf

Merry Christmas.....well, it's early, I know.   But it's never too early to break out those Christmas scrappins'.  This card is supposed to be based on a sketch (I can never get a card to fit a sketch...   ughhh!).   It is DCWV 2008 Christmas stack patterned paper....trimmed out with those wonderful red "bling on a roll" rhinestones (a Tuesday Morning find....three rolls for $3.....WOW!)    Inside paper is American Crafts Christmas Party, cut into a circle with my MS circle cutter (I prefer that to Cricut circles....they come out "wonky" for some reason...)  Edged the circle with MS snowflakes...white for one version with some glittery sparkle in the middle and red metallic for the other one.  The package and the sentiment were some button tags from my stash.  The elf is PDDU, cut in metallic, at 4".   The details for him are somewhere in this blog under SWAPS or Cool Yule.   He's just the basic cut though with hand drawn face, doodling, and marker made stripes on his stockings!

Let It Snow! Practical Scrappers Punch Challenge

Well, I broke down and finally made a Christmas card.   I wouldn't have....but it matched the sketch challenge on RAQ's card challenge on the Cricut Messageboard....and it used punches which is what Practical Scrappers is using this week....so here it is:   the first Christmas card of 2009.

Used Doodlecharms snowman:  cut shadow on regular and layers in blue metallic....cut brown twigs, cut regular white....and layers white.  All cut at 2 1/2"  Went around the edges with blue and green pencil...then silver metallic ink.  Attached the layered nose (ink, gel pen, and watercolors) googly eyes, inked cheeks, and penciled mouth.  Put on an orange ribbon knotted for a scarf...and a punched heart...and buttons.  The hat is the elf's hat from PDDU....cut at 3" and layered.   The paper is American crafts and it made this sketch easy!   Snowflakes are 2 Martha Stewart punches....layered....and button attached.  Sentiment is computer generated....cut with decorative scissors.....and inked with the silver.

My last three Christmas Cards

I hope you and your family had a great Christmas holiday, and I wish you love and happiness in the coming New Year!

These are the last 3 Christmas cards I made. Since they were for my family, I didn't post them or they would see them before Christmas. I used PPDU and a little Christmas Cheeri.

Friday Sketchs 32

This was my first time entering the challenge at Friday Sketches. Who could resist this great sketch. Made another snowman......I've got a theme going!
